Mass Raja Raviteja and long legged beauty Deeksha Seth starrer upcoming film "Nippu" is getting ready for a big release on January 13th, on the occasion of Sankranthi. Now the latest buzz is that movie audio is going to be launched on December 28th in Hyderabad, but it is not yet confirmed officially by the film makers. Movie makers are confirming that movie will gets release on January 13th, 2012.

The film has recently completed its shooting schedules in Turkey and Hyderabad.The film is said to be a action-comedy entertainer and it is being directed by Guna Sekhar.The film is being produced by YVS Chowdary on Bommarillu Vari banner. SS Thaman is composing the music for this film.

Don 2 : SRK remains the King at overseas

Certainly, the King is back but only in overseas.SRK much awaited sequel Don 2 has caught the eye of the overseas audience.The slickly made thriller has gained majors in SRK's stronghold - the overseas market where the franchise has surpassed his previous MNIK collections.Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 broke the record for the highest single day gross ever for a Hindi film in Australia when it collected US$ 82,000 on Friday. The earlier record was held by the Salman Khan starrer, Bodyguard (US$ 74,000). Don 2 has grossed US $ 1,36,000 in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

The cumulative gross of Don 2 from the International markets was US$ 3.8 million till Friday. The film opened in 41 countries on the December 23. The rights of the film are to be exploited in a total of 125 countries including a planned phase 2 distribution in 84 countries commencing January 2012.

Don 2 made US$ 5,50,000 gross from 164 locations in North America on Friday (December 23). The film, which opened on Friday, beat My Name Is Khan's opening day gross of $ 4,45,000. This opening day gross is also higher than the sum of the first three day's collections of Ra.One.

In UK, where the film opened on Wednesday (December 21), the total gross collections till Friday were US$ 5,27,000 from 76 locations, with collections from the 3D version accounting for two-thirds of the collections.

In the Middle East, Don 2 grossed US$ 9,30,000 on Thursday & Friday. These collections are higher than the first two day's collections of Ra.One (US$ 7,10,000) and than those of My Name Is Khan (US$ 7,50,000).

On the home front Don 2 has collected Rs. 48.55 crore (all-India net collection) over its first weekend at the box-office. This figure is inclusive of the collections of the original Hindi, dubbed Telugu and dubbed Tamil versions of the film.

However the movie has not performed to the expectations in the single screens and B & C centers, multiplex has played a huge role in maintaining Shahrukh Khan status at the B.O. the weekend collection of 48 crore for the highly awaited movie like Don 2 starring a star like Shahrukh Khan is no record but still it helps SRK in claiming his stake at the B.O.

Ever wondered how Shruthi Hassan always and almost achieves near-perfection in her acting?  No, she doesn't do any homework.  She is a spontaneous actor yes, but she masticates the role by observing real-life characters which helps her slip into the role once she is on the sets.  The talented actress finds her role in Gabbar Singh a holistic one.

Tendulkar should be conferred the Bharat Ratna: Ganguly

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on Friday joined the chorus in bestowing the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award, on Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

"Sachin is a Bharat Ratna. There is no doubt that he should be conferred the Bharat Ratna award. Sachin deserves all honours and I am his great fan," Ganguly said.

Till now only people belongs to art, literature, science and public service are eligible for this prestigious honour. But few days back government has changed the eligibility criteria for the Bharat Ratna to widen its scope. On the day of decision taken by Government, Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken has said that this move has cleared the decks for Tendulkar, legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand and others.

The demand for a Bharat Ratna for Sachin is becoming louder and now government sources say that it could be a matter of time before he gets the nation's highest award.

Sachin's name for Bharat Ratna started doing the rounds just before the world cup 2011 but it was felt that it would be too early to give it to him. And also with only arts, literature and public service as criteria, a sportsman would not find place.

Raviteja-Surya’s 3D film!

Earlier Chitramala informed that Tamil actor Suriya and Mass Raja Raviteja are teaming up together for a bilingual movie. Now the latest news is that the movie will be shot in 3D format. The film shooting will takes place with 3D camera. The film will be made in both Telugu and Tamil languages simultaneously.Heroines are not yet confirmed for this film.

The movie will be directed by Venkat Prabhu, who has recently delivered the Tamil film "Mankatha" with Ajith, which was also released in Telugu with the title "Gambler".The film will be produced by Gnanavel and Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to compose the music for the film.More details about this film are awaited.

After delivering the disaster film Bezawada, now actor Naga Chaitanya is busy with his new project titled "Autonagar Surya". Presently the movie shooting is progressing at Chanchalaguda Jail in Hyderabad, there the film unit is canning some important scenes on Naga Chaitanya and other lead roles of the film. Samantha is once again pairing up with Naga Chaitanya in this film after Ye Maya Chesave.

Rajnikanth’s 3D film hits floors on January 2nd!

South super star Rajnikanth was collapsed on the sets of RANA film, since then he is undergoing the treatment. Now he is better and recently he played a guest role in Sharukh Khan’s Ra.One film. Now he is coming back to work for his new 3D format film "Kochadaiyyan", which is going to hit the floors on January 2nd, 2012 in Chennai.

The first look of this film is going to be unveiled in January, 2012. Heroines are not yet confirmed for this film. Presently Anushka and Asin names were under consideration by the film makers, although neither of them have been confirmed for the role in the film. Actress Sneha is going to play Rajnikanth’s sister role in the film. Malayalam actor Prithviraj will be seen in a key role in the film.

The film is going to direct by his daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth and KS Ravikumar has written the story for this film.Rajiv Menon is the cinematographer for the film.

The film is expected to hit the silver screens in August, 2012.

Court asks Facebook, Google to take down inflammatory images

A trial court in the New Delhi on December 24, 2011 issued summons to Technology and internet giants Google, Facebook, Yahoo to appear in court later this week. The court also issued summons to 19 other websites asking them to appear in court and take down 'inflammatory' images of some religious figures on their websites.

Google India received notices on behalf of their 4 sites like YouTube, Orkut, Blogspot, and GooglePlus. Other popular websites including Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, and discussion forums such as Topix, Exbii, Boardreader has also been summoned. 

Previously, talks between the government and the internet companies such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo had failed earlier this month, as they declined to pre-screen or remove content which is legal but controversial. 

The government which had planned to draft guidelines to remove objectionable content, made a U-turn later, and denied having any plans to regulate the internet, after pressure from the US government. 

Internet companies received support from US Secretary of state Hillary Clinton this month saying that regulations on the internet would be disastrous for everybody and stifle conversations and businesses.

3 Rascals Telugu rights bagged by Dil Raju!

Director Shanakar’s upcoming Tamil film titled "Nanban", which is a remake of Bollywood’s super hit film "3 Rascals", is also releasing in Telugu with the title 3 Rascals. The movie Tamil version is being produced by Gemini Film Circuit and now producer Dil Raju bagged the movie’s theatrical rights for Telugu version of the film in AP.

Tamil actor Vijay, Srikanth( Known as Sriram in Telugu), and Rangam fame Jiva are playing the lead roles while Ilena is playing the female lead role in the film.The film is being directed by Shankar. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for the film.

The film is expected to hit the big screens on January 26 and the audio will hit the markets soon.

Movie makers are planning to release the movie for Pongal by completing all the post-production formalities. The audio of the film will be launched in the last week of this month.

Rajanna Movie Review (Rating 3.75/5)

The film takes us back into the Razakars’ era. Hearts melt and eyes spill tears, while we watch the first half. One has to appreciate the efforts put in by Rajamouli and his team in pumping in emotion in key sequences. Yes, the film might been directed by Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli, but the ace director’s deft handling of the project was clearly evident. Especially, the action sequences, the tyranny of feudal lords in Gadis and the atrocities perpetrated by the cronies of Nizam on the people of Telangana ignite the spirit of patriotism among the audience.


It is definitely a notable film in the career of Nagarjuna. Yes, after Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, this is one film that he can boast of as yet another precious jewel in his crown.


Annie deserves a great commendation and there are many chances for her to score brownie points by the juries of several award committees. She portrayed the role up to the perfection beyond her age.


Except a few liberties taken by the director that are hard to be digested by the sane audience, rest of the film is a must watch for an experience and to know the cruel incidents happened on the land of Telugus a few decades ago.


The first half is shouldered by little girl Annie in the role of Mallamma and Nagarjuna enters the screen just a few moments before interval. His entry scene – with British chaining the hero like they had done for Katta Bommanna – might create a feeling of hackneyed screenplay, but as the story runs, his character gets elevated. He seldom fights but instigates people to fight against tyranny. That’s awesome. This is the character inspired from Suddala Hanumanthu who used to evoke fighting spirit among the people with his songs.


The film has enough material for the Telugu people to experience the history. As a matter of fact, the film hasn’t shown too much of the atrocities committed by the Razakars on native people but, it just shows the glimpses of them, like a few shocking scenes such as weighing the breasts of women with money. Kudos to the censor board for allowing such bold scenes on screen with due respect to history.


To sum up, the film deserves patronage from audience for its content rich songs, emotional RR and bold depiction of history

He is the prince of the box-office.  Dookudu not only proved that Mahesh is a non-pareil when it comes to making the cash registers go ring-a-ring, but also consolidated his standing beyond doubt.  Here is what the actor has told a newspaper - he wants to win a National Award.


The actor is conscious of the fact that he has overcome his limitations in Dookudu, thanks to Sreenu Vytla.  He says, "Three years back, people said I was weak in comedy.  I always believed I had it in me and I could pull it off - it's just that Sreenu Vytla capitalized on it," he says.

'DAM 999' songs in Oscar race

Three songs from Indian film 'DAM 999' are among 39 shortlisted numbers in contention for nominations in the Original Song category for the 84th Academy Awards.

The list was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on its official website.

'Dakkanaga Dugu Dugu', 'DAM999 Theme Song' and 'Mujhe Chhod Ke' are the three songs from 'DAM 999' that are vying for a place in the final nomination list for the category.

International films 'Rio' and 'The Muppets' are the only other films with three songs each in the list.

The Academy will screen clips featuring each song, in random order, for voting members of the music branch in Los Angeles Jan 5, 2012. Following the screenings, members will determine the nominees by an averaged point system of voting.

Under Academy rules, a maximum of two songs may be nominated from any one film.

The final 84th Academy Awards nominations will be announced January 24, 2012, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

'3' songs from December 23

Now it will be interesting to see who will launch the songs of 3. However there are reports that both Rajni and Kamal Haasan may grace the event. Coincidentally the music launch of Vijay starrer 'Nanban' is also on the same day. And Vikram's 'Rajapattai' hits the screens also on that day!

'3' is directed by Rajni's daughter Aishwarya and Kamal's daughter Shruti Haasan plays the leading lady. Debutant Anirudh has composed music for the film and Dhanush has penned all the songs apart from playing the lead role. Velraj is the cinematographer and Kola Baskar is the editor. The film is likely to grace theatres in January 2012.

'Rajanna' preponed ( release on December 22)

The release date of Nagarjuna's forthcoming period drama 'Rajanaa' has been preponed by a day. The film is now set for release on December 22.

Earlier, it was scheduled for release on December 23.

Sources said that it was Nagarjuna who advised the makers to release the film a day in advance to make more BO profit during this Christmas season. The film is directed by S.S. Rajamouli's father Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Nagarjuna himself under his home banner Annapurna Studios. M.M. Keeravani has composed the music.
